Guncannon Heavy Arms Type

Description

Time for a real update, besides my practice update. Here we have a kit (like the GM Sniper Custom) that I've been really wanting to do. Unlike the GM Sniper Custom, this kit was a breeze and turned out nicely.

This is the RX-77-3 Guncannon Heavy Arms Type. It's a B-Club conversion kit for your HGUC Guncannon. Let me tell you it was just at the right moment I managed to get this kit. Around 2004 I started to want to see what B-Club was about. I found a site selling the Conversion Kit and tried to buy. Fortunately they were sold out so I didn't get anything. Rewind to this February and I managed to see a few of these babies for sale elsewhere. Now, having managed to break some crucial parts of the original HGUC Guncannon, I had most of its spare parts laying around (hence what motivated me to go looking in the first place). Deciding it was time to reassemble the Guncannon, I started to go to work. About half way through the build I had a few issues with cleaning the damn resin but :iconbluudy: was kind enough to show me the way. While this was happening, :iconredkarasu: and :iconjonevangelist: pushed me toward weathering with Tamiya's weathering kits. I worked on the kit pretty hard the last few days after I managed to assemble the last bits of this puzzle, mainly the MG Guncannon decals. In fact, I did all the decals, the two coats of dullcoat, and the weathering work all last night. Amazing how highly toxic chemicals dry so fast. Also, I think my brain went a bit crazy. Not sure how I would tell. So here it is, the Guncannon Heavy Arms Type.

You'll notice I decked it out with the MG Guncannon decals instead of going with the Titan's scheme. I had committed earlier this year to rebuild both of my Guncannons as the duo of Kai and Hayato. Now with the Heavy Arms Type in my collection, I decided to do the 'what if' scenario and assumed Gundam hadn't been canceled so this design managed to get in the series (I read a lot about these things while researching) So, flipping a coin, I made this unit #109 with Hayato being the primary pilot. Made sense to me since Hayato piloted the Guntank. They both look alike color wise. Yeah, that was pretty much the only motivation for why I did it that way.

Colors:

Model Master: Cobalt Blue, Duck Egg Blue, Gunship Gray, Dark Gray

Polly S: DTI Cherry Red

This is view two. I wasn't certain on which view showed the kit off the best so I opted for two of them.
