Devil Gundam 1

Description

This is a 1/144 Devil Gundam from G Gundam. It was never released in the United States (as far as I know) and is a pain in the ass to find. It's painted using Tamiya White, Red, and Gold with Model Masters Light Gray and Euro Gray with that Model Railroad Steam Power Black.

For as hard to come by and as large as this model is, you'd expect there to be some great articulation of the joints... Not exactly the case here. The there are caps in the ankles, the hips, the shoulders, the elbow and the hands and head. The hands shown here are not the stock hands but hands from the Endless Waltz model kits. All the paint job is based upon the artwork version of the model, not the model color guideline pics of the actual assembled kit. It was too horrible and boring to go with. One of a few major problems is the hip joints are too small for all the weight on top, leading to the kit being very loose and tending to fall back with the weight located near its rear. Second, the torso is connected with a 'jack-in-the-box' system, except its a bent spine piece that pushes the upper body to far forward, further unbalancing and hiding the facial details because it wants to look at the ground. Last, the many thrusters don't sit well on their respective body parts, leading to a bit of space in some spots that isn't well seen in the picture.

It's an interesting looking kit, not as evil as the 'devil' title deserves or as wicked looking as the Epyon, the Virsago, or the Virasago Chestbreak, but still an interesting if not hard to find model kit.

I think BanDai did an updated version of this HGFF kit.
Also little fun fact about G Gundam. In the final few episodes you'll see...
RX-78-2 Gundam being launched into space on a rocket as well as the Nu-Gundam(without the funnels).
In the Space battle you'll see...
The V-Gundam but the surprising cameo of Gundam is that you'll see the MS-01 Wing Gundam that would later be the lead Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
